Best Movies of 2017

Time to introduce my favourite movies of the year 2017! This time I could came up with only eight movies and most of them are super hero movies, but maybe some of you could enjoy them too. You can see my favourites of 2016 here

X-Men are my absolutely favourite super heroes and Wolverine is one of my favourite X-Man, so this goodbye movie of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine was very emotional experience for me. It's raw, a bit bloody and heart breaking movie, and there couldn't be a better way to end the (pretty horrible) trilogy of Wolverine solo movies. It made me feel very blue and sad for few days and it was difficult to get it out of my mind.

The King
I didn't watch that many new Korean movies this year, but this was one of my favourites. It's a story of a man who wants to become a prosecutor, but the world is not exactly what he expected. I like all the lead actors, story was interesting and it's filmed in very nice and fresh way. Really liked the camera work. Koreans are very good at making crime and action movies and this movie is not an exception.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
I thought before that the  first Guardians of the Galaxy is just okay movie, but damn how I liked this second one! The humour worked for me, it has amazing colors and lovable characters. I read some reviews saying that the humour is too childish, but it made me laugh. Highly recommendable space opera! I fell in love especially with cute and honest Mantis acted by beautiful Pom Klementieff. This movie made me a fan of the guardians!

Wonder Woman
Here came the savior of the DC World! I think that Wonder Woman is one of the hottest (literally) things that has happened to super hero movie genre for a while. It was very refreshing and enjoyble movie. Gal Gadot is super gorgeous and Wonder Woman's cute naiveness together with her badassness worked for me.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Same than with the Guardians of the Galaxy, I liked the first movie and loved the second movie! This was super cool, a bit disgusting at times, but fun movie. Julianne Moore was as gorgeous as ever and perfect in the role of a villain. This movie didn't have a boring moment.

A Taxi Driver
Another Korean movie. This is based on true events of the Gwangju Uprising that happened in 1980. I think this movie progressed a bit slowly and I didn't love every second of it, but it's very heart breaking and left me speechless. Even though some of the scenes were written just to make the movie more exciting and pretentious, many parts of it have actually happened in the past. It is just so hard to understand how something so horrible can actually have happened not that long time ago. Song Kangho is one of Korea's best actors and alway a joy to watch.

Justice League
I didn't have high hopes for this movie, but I really enjoyed it! This must be my favourite DC movie. I absolutely hated Batman vs. Super Man, but I love Ben Affleck as a new Batman, and I liked the bits of psycho Super Man in this movie. Even though I'm totally a Marvel fan girl, I think this movie was much better than the highly praised Thor: Ragnarok that came to theaters around the same time with Justice League.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Highly criticized movie, but I liked it. There were some parts that were a bit annoying and not really beliavable, but it has its moments too. I love Psycho(Kylo) Ren. It didn't give much answers to the questions given in the previous movie, but I hope still that some of them will be answered better in the next movie. Maybe not the best Star Wars movie, but it's visually pleasing and I would definitely watch it again.

Other 2017 movies I saw: Take the 10 (horrible! I gave this 2/10), Beauty and the Beast (I prefer the animation), Sandy Wexler (boring), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (tried too hard to be funny), Little Evil (don't waste your time), Blade Runner 2049 (VERY dark! The athmosphere of the movie made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but definitely worth to watch), Thor: Ragnarok (this is not the best Marvel movie, but I loved Hela), Despicable Me 3 (not as funny as the previous movies), To the Bone (pretty okay), Girlfriend's Day (nothing to say), Life (awful and scary, not my genre), The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) (I actually liked this pretty much), A Christmas Prince (pretty bad Christmas romance),  Christmas Inheritance (so was this), Home Again (forgettable), Spider-Man: Homecoming (love Tom Holland as a new Spider-Man, but the movie was a huge disappointment)

2017 movies I hadn't chance to see yet, but want to watch: The Discovery, The House of Tomorrow, 1987: When the Day Comes, Along With the Gods, The Greatest Showman, Columbus, Logan Lucky, I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore., Downsizing, Mother!, The Hitman's Bodyguard, Confidential Assingment, Power Rangers, Wonder, The Space Between Us, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
